Inês Peres Mesquita (1997, Oporto, Portugal)
From Porto, currently based in Barcelona.
I hold a degree in Fine Arts — Multimedia from FBAUP and a Master’s in Sound and Image — Animation from UCP. For over 2 years, I’ve been working as a production coordinator and 2D animator at Studio Kimchi, an animation film studio in Barcelona. Over the course of 8 years, I also worked with children and teenagers in a drawing and painting atelier, teaching and supporting their creative projects.
I’m interested in exploring the relationship between art, education, and psychology, bringing together theory and practice. I’m drawn to the free and intuitive way children perceive and represent the world. My work and research are particularly focused on the mind, dreams, territories and communities, and the transformation of spaces — between the urban and the residual, the built and the improvised.
